„Topology of Complex Hypersurface Singularities“
Laurentiu Maxim, University of Wisconsin

In this lecture, I will review some of the basic concepts of the theory of hypersurface singularities: Milnor fibration, monodromy, vanishing cycles, connectivity of the link, exotic spheres. I will also indicate how to compute the Euler characteristic of complex projective hypersurfaces, first in the non-singular case, then for hypersurfaces with only isolated singularities.
