„Arithmetic groups and geometric zeta functions“
Prof. Dr. Anton Deitmar, Universität Tübingen

I shall present recent progress in the program aimed at generalising the classical Selberg and Ruelle zeta functions to arbitrary arithmetic groups. The higher rank case naturally leads to a several variable zeta function. These zeta functions can be defined in real and p-adic settings and their analytic properties can be used to show class number asymptotics. The p-adic case can be interpreted as unramified part of a Langlands L-function.
